As a sculpture, the work is the sum of its materials; yet the materials merge to become overt overtones of romanticized style. However, the lack of sky, patternized foreground, and dribble of ice cream with formaldehyde reveals a more sinister undertone - a body sinking, like quicksand, into the muddy landscape.
