My Mind Is Like My Place,

The Walls Are Too Thin To Relax

2015

The images of anthropomorphic boulders are juxtaposed with pages of blind debossed text about remnants of childhood trauma. In sync with the harsh lighting and texture of the rocks, the words physically reflect their patterns. As the reader touches the text they enact the same touch that can mend emotional disconnection or trigger trauma.

This work is a part of the 'Vulnerably Defective' series. The book won the Swansea College of Art Book Prize (2017).
